Women at SIBI who pursue the Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree in the Deaf Ministry Program complete more than 40 courses and four public speaking labs. The program typically spans three years, providing comprehensive training for ministry among the Deaf.
Most courses are taught in American Sign Language (ASL), with interpretation available when needed. Some classes may also be taken alongside hearing instructors to ensure full participation.

This course is designed to prepare women for ministry through self-evaluation and self-growth. We study the remarkable women of the Old and New Testaments and what we can learn from them.

This course is designed to prepare women for ministry through self-evaluation and self-growth. We learn about the history of the women’s rights and feminist movements, four views of a woman’s position in society and the church, and an overview of the Old and New Testament scriptures concerning women’s roles in society and in the church. Students choose a book from a list of recommended books and present an oral book review to the class.

This course helps students to understand the need for women’s ministry in the church and its purpose. We learn how to develop a “mock” women’s ministry project. We learn about the vital importance of a ministry that incorporates and practices a “Sabbatical Lifestyle.”
